Is Waterdrop legit: the short answer

Yes, as a store and a brand. Waterdrop runs its own US store, priced in US dollars, with a written 30-day return policy. The pages for its G3P600, G3P800, X12 and X16 reverse osmosis (RO) systems name IAPMO R&T as the certifier, and IAPMO R&T's public directory lists all four. The G3P600 tankless RO system was $539.00 one-time, as read on October 14, 2026.

The care point is certification: NSF's own listing for the Waterdrop name shows no RO system.

Who makes Waterdrop filters

NSF's listing names Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co., Ltd. as the maker of the Waterdrop-branded cartridges, faucet-mount filters and pitchers it lists, and IAPMO R&T's directory gives the same company as listee on all 15 of its Waterdrop-brand records. Waterdrop's service policy names Ecolife Technologies, Inc. for returns, and its installer page says the installers listed are independent contractors.

Certification: IAPMO R&T, NSF and what to match

The G3P600, G3P800, X12 and X16 pages say IAPMO R&T tested and certified each system against NSF/ANSI 58, the RO standard, for the claims on its Performance Data Sheet, the sheet listing what the certification covers, plus NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free materials. NSF's own search for the Waterdrop name found no product under NSF/ANSI 58, 372 or P473 on October 14, 2026.

IAPMO R&T's directory does list the WD-G3P600 and WD-G3P800 under NSF/ANSI 58. For the WD-X12 and WD-X16 its NSF/ANSI 58 rows carry one reduction claim, TDS (total dissolved solids), where Waterdrop's pages list more substances; read any other substance named for those two models as Waterdrop's own claim. EPA lists IAPMO R&T beside CSA Group and NSF as certifiers to check for PFAS filters. The X12 page's report button opens a file named as the user manual, not a data sheet.

Red flags to look for before you pay

• Price. The service policy says prices can change without notice, and a card can show a different figure from the store price quoted here.
• Lead wording. The K6 card says "Remove 99% of Lead", while its page lists only NSF/ANSI 372, a lead-free materials standard, so that line is Waterdrop's own claim.
• Amazon. Waterdrop's policy says orders from third-party sellers, Amazon included, are not eligible for its return policy.
• PFOA and PFOS. Waterdrop says its own lab reports back its PFOA and PFOS claims; the directory lists PFOA/PFOS under NSF/ANSI 53 for the G3P600 and G3P800, not the X12 or X16.

Brands with other terms
