Waterdrop G3P600 vs G3P800: the short answer

Pick the Waterdrop G3P600, $539.00 on October 14, 2026, unless you want less drain water: Waterdrop rates the G3P800, $999.00, at one gallon to the drain for three of pure water, against one for two. Both are one-time store prices for the system, with filters extra.

Output and pure-to-drain ratio

GPD (gallons per day) is the daily rating of the RO membrane, not the flow at the tap. The pure-to-drain ratio is gallons of treated water per gallon sent to the drain, so 3:1 means one gallon of drain water for three of pure water; both ratios are Waterdrop's own ratings.

EPA says a typical point-of-use RO system sends five gallons or more down the drain for every gallon it treats, and a WaterSense-labeled one 2.3 gallons or less; no Waterdrop page read mentions WaterSense.

Certification on each spec line

Waterdrop prints NSF/ANSI 42, 58 and 372 in the G3P600 spec line, 42, 53, 58 and 372 in its certification heading and only 58 and 372 in its FAQ; the line all three share is NSF/ANSI 58 and 372, and Waterdrop ties every reduction claim to the Performance Data Sheet.

The Performance Data Sheet is the certifier's list of the claims a certification covers. IAPMO R&T, the body Waterdrop names, lists both the WD-G3P600 and the WD-G3P800 in its directory under NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 372; where Waterdrop's G3P600 lists and the directory differ, this guide builds no verdict on either. Waterdrop says IAPMO R&T certified the G3P800 to 42, 53 and 58 for the sheet's claims and to 372 for low lead.

Take a family of four on city water whose utility's Consumer Confidence Report, the annual water quality report EPA requires, lists PFAS and who wants an under-sink system whose listing names that reduction. The directory lists PFOA/PFOS under NSF/ANSI 53 for both models, with no percentage, on the directory's WD-G3-CB carbon-block component, so the listing does not separate them. Replacement filters and their lives

Waterdrop's help-center table counts 9 stages for the G3P800 and 6 for the A1, while the product pages say 10 and 7, so the stage count is no reliable way to compare them.

The G3P800 uses three filters, per its page: the G3-N1CF, up to 6 months, $29.99 one-time; the G3-N3CB, up to 12 months; and the RO filter G3P800-N2RO, up to 24 months, $139.99. On Waterdrop's subscription, worded as 5% off, the first two were $28.49 each and the RO filter $132.99. The G3P600 shares the first two filters and their lives.

Same cabinet, same installation

Waterdrop says to leave about a 1-inch gap between the unit and the cabinet wall. The G3P600 page says it needs one outlet and a drainpipe nearby, and the G3P800's box lists a drain saddle and a feed water adapter. Waterdrop states a feed pressure of 14.5 to 87 psi and noise up to 65 dB in lab conditions.
