Waterdrop vs ZeroWater: the short answer
ZeroWater sells pitchers only; Waterdrop sells pitchers and reverse osmosis (RO) systems. As read on October 14, 2026, ZeroWater's 10 Cup Pitcher was $37.99, while Waterdrop's 10-cup Lucid (PT-07) at $29.99 showed Sold Out in every color. Waterdrop's 5-cup Elfin (PT-05) was $24.99 and in stock, and its C1S countertop RO system was $259.00, one-time.
Pitcher prices are as each store lists them: the Elfin listing says one filter and ZeroWater's 22-cup listing says two.

Waterdrop's own menu lists the Elfin as a 5-cup pitcher and the Lucid as a 10-cup pitcher. Set the Lucid beside ZeroWater's 10 Cup Pitcher and Waterdrop's price is lower, $29.99 against $37.99, but the Lucid could not be bought on the day it was read. Waterdrop's Chubby (PT-04), also 10 cups, was $27.49 and also Sold Out. The Elfin is the Waterdrop pitcher that was in stock, at 5 cups.
ZeroWater's 22 Cup Ready-Read Pitcher with 2 filters was $62.98, the store's own price.
Certification wording: NSF 42 against IAPMO
Waterdrop's FAQ says all of its pitcher and dispenser filters are NSF 42 certified for chlorine, taste and odor, and the PT-07 copy says NSF 42 and 372, where 372 covers lead-free materials. IAPMO R&T's directory lists models named WDP-PT-05 and WDP-PT-07 under NSF/ANSI 42, which matches the Elfin and Lucid by name, and lists the PT-05 name under NSF/ANSI 53 for mercury. NSF's listing shows Waterdrop-branded pitchers made by Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co., Ltd.
ZeroWater says its 5-stage filtration is IAPMO certified to reduce PFOA/PFOS, lead, chromium and mercury. That sentence names the certifier but no standard number, so the two lists of substances differ and cannot be matched standard to standard.
When to step up to countertop reverse osmosis
Step up when you want an RO system rather than a pitcher filter and have a counter outlet. Waterdrop's C1S was $259.00 and its K19-SFK $349.00, one-time, and Waterdrop says both need no installation. The C1S has a detachable tank, needs electricity per its spec, and is rated 75 GPD (gallons per day, the membrane's daily output rating) with a 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio: one gallon of drain water for every three gallons of treated water.
The C1S spec block prints no certification, and Waterdrop's NSF page lists it under NSF/ANSI 372 only; the K19-SFK spec line prints NSF/ANSI 58, the RO standard. EPA says a typical point-of-use RO system sends five gallons or more of reject water down the drain for every gallon of treated water. For a Brita comparison read Waterdrop vs Brita.
Returns on each side, and who should pick which
ZeroWater refunds new, unopened items bought on its own site within 45 days; opened or used items are not eligible. Waterdrop takes items back within 30 days, charges a 10% restocking fee when they are not in like-new condition, and the buyer pays return shipping unless the return is for a quality issue.
- Pick ZeroWater for a pitcher whose maker names IAPMO certification for PFOA/PFOS, lead, chromium and mercury, at $37.99 for 10 cups.
- Pick Waterdrop for the step up to countertop RO, the C1S at $259.00, or for an in-stock pitcher, the Elfin at $24.99. Brita alternatives and best water filter for apartment cover renters and other pitcher options.
