Waterdrop vs AquaTru: countertop and under-sink reverse osmosis compared

Waterdrop vs AquaTru: the short answer

Waterdrop costs less for countertop reverse osmosis (RO). Its K19-SFK was $349.00 one-time, as read on October 14, 2026, against AquaTru's Carafe at $375.00 and Classic at $475.00. Under the sink, AquaTru's Under Sink at $395.00 costs less than Waterdrop's tankless G3P600 at $539.00.

These are system prices on one basis. Waterdrop's store price is one-time, with its filter subscription optional, and AquaTru shows the same system price with or without its filter subscription.

Countertop RO: K19-SFK and C1S against Carafe and Classic

Waterdrop K19-SFK against AquaTru comes down to price, format and guarantee. Waterdrop says the K19-SFK needs no installation or drilling, and it holds 170 oz. It is rated 75 GPD (gallons per day, the membrane's daily output rating, not the flow at the tap) with a 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio: one gallon of drain water for every three gallons of treated water.

Waterdrop's page calls the K19-SFK ideal for renters. The C1S, $259.00, has a detachable tank and needs no installation, per Waterdrop. AquaTru's pages offer a filter subscription that saves 20% on replacement filters, at the same system price.

Countertop vs under sink reverse osmosis is a plumbing question. Waterdrop's countertop units sit on the counter and are filled by hand. An under-sink system such as the G3P600 connects at the sink and, per Waterdrop, needs a drain line nearby and one electrical outlet. A renter who cannot change plumbing should read best water filter for apartment.

Under-sink RO: G3P600 against AquaTru Under Sink

Waterdrop vs AquaTru under sink: the G3P600 is a tankless RO system, with no storage tank and a pump, so it needs power. Waterdrop rates it 600 GPD with a 2:1 pure-to-drain ratio. It was $539.00 one-time on October 14, 2026.

AquaTru's Under Sink was $395.00. For Waterdrop's larger under-sink systems, including the G3P800 at $999.00, read the Waterdrop review.

Certification and claims on each side

AquaTru says its Classic is independently tested and certified by IAPMO to NSF standards to reduce 84 contaminants found in tap water. Waterdrop's K19-SFK spec line prints NSF/ANSI 58, and IAPMO R&T's directory lists the K19-SFK (WD-K19-SFK-US) under NSF/ANSI 58 with TDS (total dissolved solids) as its reduction claim.

The C1S spec block prints no certification, and Waterdrop's NSF page lists it under NSF/ANSI 372, which covers lead-free materials. NSF's own listing for the Waterdrop name shows no Waterdrop RO system, so IAPMO R&T is the certifier to check.

Guarantee, returns and warranty: who should pick which

AquaTru gives a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee and a 1-year limited warranty, and customers pay shipping and processing fees on returns. Waterdrop gives 30-day returns and a 1-year warranty on the K19-SFK, C1S and G3P600. Waterdrop calls its returns worry-free, but you pay return shipping unless the return is for a quality issue, items not in like-new condition carry a 10% restocking fee, and Amazon orders are not covered.

• Pick Waterdrop for a no-installation countertop system at $349.00 (K19-SFK) or $259.00 (C1S), one-time.
